Bands are altitude, not vegetation: sal forest grows on both the valley floor and the Churia slope.

Chitwan National Park

A broad basin of 952.63 km² held between two hill ranges and three rivers. Its boundary runs some 309 km as digitised — about 2.8 times the 109 km a circle of equal area would need. It is a far more compact shape than a long ribbon park, but almost every kilometre of that edge is farmland, and much of it is river.

Seven separate years with zero rhino poaching since 2011 — the record that took Chitwan's rhinos from ~95 to 694.
